I’d never use Maggi on my Mett, but to each their own. Personally I’m keeping it simple with just salt and pepper (extremely fine ground white pepper), and of course finely chopped onions. Red ones preferred. If I’m feeling frisky, I might add capres.

viking@infosec.pubto A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•‘My Property Tax Went From $15K to a Life-Altering $91K a Year’2·1 day agoYeah because people love to be forced out of their homes. Does the amount of money really matter? It’s gentrification, plain and simple.
Hm, I prefer the AI copy.
viking@infosec.pubto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: In China, a growing number of people are avoiding Starbucks. Many prefer local owned brands. Starbucks corporate executives are angry about it.1·2 days agoI’m not so sure about that, they studied Starbucks’ quasi-monopoly for quite some time and then decided to beat them with better coffee.
So at least they had a plan, unlike KFC with their “me too” approach. That stuff is so bad I’ll rather risk headaches on a 10h flight than to refuel with that garbage.

viking@infosec.pubto Technology@lemmy.world•Still booting after all these years: The people stuck using ancient Windows computersEnglish39·2 days agoMy assumption would be that the display is not related to operating the elevator, but rather displaying information about businesses on the respective floors. I’ve seen those a fair few times, and since they run on isolated networks or even fully local, there’s little risk.
viking@infosec.pubto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Egypt, Mexico, China, Pakistan, Colombia, Brazil, Turkey, Japan, Singapore, Australia, India voted a resolution calling to end american sanctions on Cuba141·2 days agoThe issue is that the USD is the main trade currency in the world, and all transactions in USD need to be cleared by banks in the US. Since Cuba is banned from trading in USD, they need to trade directly in their import/export partners home currency, which exposes them to additional currency fluctuations, and complicates the whole settlement process.
I wouldn’t know what to vote for, tbh. As a citizen I’m still eligible to vote even from abroad, so I check the party programs and also follow local news regularly, and it’s been a steady race to the bottom on all accounts. Initially at least the Greens were a reliable choice, but nowadays they suck as well.
Mett is bloody awesome, and the one thing I truly miss ever since leaving the country and its miserable people behind 19 years ago. But every time I come to visit, I gotta get a proper Mettbrötchen.
Make sure you get it directly from a butcher shop early morning, and don’t wait. It’s not exactly known for holding up long.
Was the first season actually popular, or is that thanks to the success of taskmaster?
I’ve watched it because I love TM, but the show was by and large ‘mildly amusing’, to leave it on a somewhat positive note.
Can’t exactly say I was dying to see a continuation.
viking@infosec.pubto World News@lemmy.world•Audio Analysis: Eurovision Broadcaster Muted Sounds of Crowd Booing and Shouting “Free Palestine!”English617·2 days agoExcessive? It’s an entertainment show. Just like they tilt the camera to the sky and mute the audio when a runner gets onto a sports pitch during a live broadcast to not give them an audience, muting calls from the audience during a concert is just about the same. You might agree with the message, but that doesn’t mean it’s justified.
Sure, I’m always up for new stuff. Will give it a try!
I got a rather broad taste, from fantasy/sci-fi over crime/thriller/action to dramas and even the odd romance. My favorite animated movie (it that’s what you’re trying to figure out) would probably be some Disney classics like Lion King or Jungle Book.
Yeah that’s the same I keep hearing from everyone who likes the movies, and I’ve heard/read lengthy explanations of a few of them, and was pushed to rewatch a couple with various groups or individuals. Most often I think that movie with the dirty river god in some bath house, forgot what it’s called.
I believe I must have watched 5 or 6, most of which more than once, and it’s seriously not my cup of tea.
viking@infosec.pubto Eurovision Song Contest@lemmy.world•AUSTRIA WINS EUROVISION 2025!!!English72·3 days agoTIL that contest is still going on, despite all favoritism and bias.
I’m one of the people that don’t get the appeal. I’ve watched a few highly praised ones and found them to be incredibly boring.
viking@infosec.pubto A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•‘My Property Tax Went From $15K to a Life-Altering $91K a Year’1·3 days agoThat doesn’t mean he can afford the taxes?
If you buy an affordable house somewhere and external developments drive the price up, it doesn’t mean that you magically have the means to afford paying 5x as much for something you already own.
viking@infosec.pubto Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•Rockstar games are not very fun to playEnglish10·3 days agoControllers are shit. Nothing beats precise keyboard & mouse inputs.
I’ve been playing some shooters online against a bunch of consoleros, and was accused of cheating time and time again simply for being able to aim more precise.
Yeah, “suck less than the others” is exactly what I mean with race to the bottom. I shouldn’t be forced to vote the lesser evil, but the better option.
Left and Right are equally disqualifying factors for me, I dislike radicalism. Which leaves maybe the SPD, but their candidates are all imbeciles.
So I could vote for Piraten or Die Partei, but let’s face it - they have just about as much power as Graue Panther or Centrum.
